Based in Nittel, on the limestone slopes of the Upper Mosel, Jonas Dostert embodies a new generation of top-tier German winemakers, determined to craft great wines that can stand proudly alongside those from Burgundy and other renowned regions. On these dolomitic and limestone soils, he cultivates Chardonnay, Elbling, and Pinot Noir with remarkable precision and a deeply artisanal approach. His philosophy is simple: express the purity of the terroir without artifice. The vines are farmed manually and without chemical inputs, yielding wines of striking energy. In the cellar, fermentations occur naturally with indigenous yeasts, élevage takes place in old barrels, and sulfur is used sparingly. The result: wines of exemplary tension, salinity, and depth. Each cuvée reflects the minerality of the limestone and the freshness of the Mosel climate, placing Jonas Dostert among the most promising winemakers in Germany today.
