Nicolas Mariotti Bindi first discovered the world of wine as an apprentice in Moulin-à-Vent, before training with Antoine Arena and at Domaine Leccia in Corsica. In 2007, Henri Orenga de Gaffory, a leading grower in Patrimonio, entrusted him with five hectares of vines. Two years later, supported by the income generated, he purchased two hectares of his own, which he replanted at high density with niellucciu and vermentino.Driven by a desire to contribute to the Corsican economy and to root his activity firmly on the island, he turned to viticulture after abandoning law studies in Paris. His Burgundian experience and personal convictions led him to adopt massal selection and to pursue balance and freshness in his wines, without systematically excluding the use of sulfites. Since 2018, certain cuvées, such as Porcellese, have been aged in demi-muids.He went on to establish Cantina Di Torra, a winery whose name—“cantina” meaning cellar in Corsican—reflects both his deep attachment to the land and his island heritage.
