Domaine Mont de Marie was founded in 2004 when Thierry Forestier, from a family of growers in the Costières de Nîmes, left his career in the IT sector to dedicate himself to the vine. Based in Souvignargues, in the Gard, he now farms 12 hectares of old vines of aramon, carignan, cinsault, grenache, ugni blanc and a touch of viognier, planted on clay-sandy and sandstone slopes influenced by the cooling effects of the Cévennes and the Vidourle. The vineyard is worked naturally: ploughing, mechanical weeding, no herbicides or insecticides, and only minimal use of copper and sulphur when necessary. All grapes are harvested by hand, and the wines are made without additives, using whole clusters, indigenous yeasts, and no fining or filtration. Since 2017, the estate has shifted toward a more airy, infused and fruit-forward style, establishing itself as a reference for natural wines in the Gard.
