Gabriel Keltchewsky is a young winemaker who settled in Comblanchien in 2023, at the heart of the Côte de Nuits. Yet nothing initially pointed him toward wine — in fact, he didn’t even drink it until the age of 25. At 28, he made a complete career change, after a path far removed from the vineyard. His first hands-on experience came in Chile in 2019, followed by a harvest with David Reynaud in the Rhône Valley in 2020. He also spent time working in the vineyards in Italy, though without participating in the winemaking there. Back in France, he worked as a wine shop assistant in Paris and Lyon before deciding to dive fully into production. In 2023–2024, he enrolled in the Viticulture & Oenology BTS program at the Beaune wine school and did his apprenticeship at Domaine Antoine Lienhardt, where he gained solid technical skills and a strong sensitivity to natural wines — along with a clear understanding of how demanding they are to produce. In 2023, he began leasing two old-vine parcels in Comblanchien: “Les Chenevrières”, a tiny Aligoté plot in the village center, planted with 70-year-old vines and tended like a garden. A parcel of Pinot Noir in the Vignes Blanches climat, also averaging 70 years of age, entirely worked by hand and vinified using whole clusters. Two cuvées that reflect the winemaker himself: spontaneous, sincere, and already full of promise.
