A true son of Burgundy, Pierre Ségault grew up surrounded by vineyards and family traditions. After studying oenology in Beaune and exploring the world of wine during a stint in Asia, he returned in 2018 with a clear vision: to craft an exceptional Chablis, deeply respectful of its terroir and uncompromising in quality. On a 0.76-hectare plot in Maligny—a renowned lieu-dit celebrated for its Portlandian limestone soils—he launched his first vintage in 2024: "Le Milieu des Chaumes." Born from a challenging vintage (with yields reduced to one-third), this Chablis is the result of minimalist and precise winemaking: hand-harvested grapes, native yeast fermentation, and aging on lees in stainless steel tanks, amphorae, and a single new oak barrel—unfined and unfiltered. With a natural alcohol level of 11.5%, Pierre avoids chaptalization entirely, preserving the wine’s balance and purity.
