Tasting at Domaine Berthaut-Gerbet – Vintage 2024

(wines still ageing, unless otherwise noted)

Hautes-Côtes de Nuits 2024

Destemmed, aged in concrete vats, with very little new oak.
A precise, straight wine with clean fruit and immediate tension. Lively on the palate, supported by fine acidity.

Fixin Village 2024

A blend of five parcels located in the center of the village. Blended in late September 2025 in foudre, then racked into vat before bottling.
Satin-like tannins, cassis on the finish. The structure is well-defined, with a firm yet polished backbone.

Fixin Les Craies 2024

Racked in December. A parcel north of Fixin on alluvial soils, vinified separately.
40% whole-cluster. A more airy expression, with a softer texture and fruit that unfolds with greater finesse. A smoother finish compared to the Village.

Fixin En Combe Roy 2024

40% whole-cluster. Beautiful fruit concentration.
Slender, highly elegant palate, delivering a sense of purity and verticality. Lovely finesse and detail.

Gevrey-Chambertin Village 2024

Two parcels on the lower slopes of Gevrey, complemented by one in La Combe du Dessus.
A spicy, slightly smoky nose. The palate shows tight yet balanced structure, with a pleasing aromatic continuity. Finish is still tense, promising good evolution.

Vosne-Romanée 2024

Parcels on the Nuits-Saint-Georges side, notably Les Réas and La Rivière.
Nose marked by refined oak. Velvety, airy palate with subtle sweet spice. A harmonious, long, and precise wine with strong potential.

Fixin 1er Cru Les Arvelets 2024

High-altitude vines.
A finely etched, peppery nose with a light vegetal note. The palate opens softly before tightening toward the finish, with tannins that will need time to integrate.

Gevrey-Chambertin Lavaux Saint-Jacques 2024

Farmed under sharecropping. A cool, late-ripening climat. 0.13 ha; only one barrel produced in 2024. 100% whole-cluster.
A nose combining noble herbal notes, red fruit, and pepper. Fresh, stretched-out palate with a tangy finish. Energetic wine with depth still to come.

Vosne-Romanée Les Petits Monts 2024

Entirely manual work, 50% whole-cluster.
A more reductive nose than the other cuvées, then blackcurrant and light smoke. The palate is still compact, with discreet yet elegant aromatics. Needs cellaring; high potential.

Échezeaux 2024

80% whole-cluster. Three parcels blended: Les Treux, Quartiers de Nuits, Champs Traversin (0.21 ha).
Mentholated nose. Velvety, still restrained palate with calm, even amplitude. A wine holding back for now—worth following.

Fixin Blanc “Champ des Charmes” 2024

Bottled in late July 2025. Planted in 2009 (0.50 ha).
Fruity, still primary nose. More complete palate: round, sunny, textured. Very indulgent, with a broad, luminous finish.
