Jean-Baptiste Hardy

Jean-Baptiste Hardy=

Muscadet is bubbling with new energy, as a wave of talented young winemakers crafts wines full of grace, tension, and depth. Jean-Baptiste Hardy is right at the heart of this movement—and there’s every reason to believe he’ll soon become one of the appellation’s rising stars. He recently took over the family estate in the heart of Muscadet Sèvre et Maine, in Mouzillon—the highest point of the village, nestled near the Sanguèse River and swept by cool Atlantic breezes. The soils here are a mix of gabbro (volcanic rock) and silico-clay, offering a fantastic foundation for expressive whites. But what truly sets him apart is his background: Fromm Winery in New Zealand, Bodega Chacra in Patagonia, Domaine de la Côte in California, and even stints at Burgundy legends like Domaine Roulot and Domaine Leflaive. Not bad for a newcomer! We’re thrilled to introduce you to this promising winemaker and his wines—ones you’ll definitely want to keep an eye on.
