Justin Dutraive

Justin Dutraive=

Since his first vintage in 2015, Justin Dutraive has embraced a small-scale, hands-on approach to winemaking, with quality always taking precedence over quantity. His personal domaine covers less than two hectares, and each cuvée is produced in very limited quantities—just a few thousand bottles at most. This intimate scale allows him to maintain close control over both the farming and the winemaking process—at least as much control as one can have when working naturally. Alongside his own project, Justin continues to work with his family at the Domaine de la Grand’Cour in Fleurie. There, under the guidance of his father Jean-Louis Dutraive—a leading figure in the natural Beaujolais movement—he absorbed a deep respect for Gamay and a commitment to low-intervention winemaking. As Jean-Louis gradually steps back, Justin is taking on more responsibility for the vinification of the various labels that come out of the Dutraive enclave. All share the same core philosophy: organic farming, natural vinification, and a dedication to producing high-quality, expressive Gamay.
