Nestled in Passenans, in the heart of the Jura, Domaine Grand is a family estate with a rich heritage, cultivated over several generations. In 2015, Emmanuel Grand and Nathalie Morin, herself the daughter of Arbois winegrowers, took over the domaine. They chose to concentrate their efforts, reducing the vineyard to about 10 hectares in order to focus on precision and quality. Organic farming quickly became a priority. Conversion began in 2018, with the first certified cuvées released a few years later. The estate spans the appellations Côtes du Jura, Arbois, and Château-Chalon, showcasing the region’s emblematic grape varieties: Savagnin, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Trousseau, and Poulsard. Emmanuel often says: “I like to master in order to understand.” His philosophy shines through in the rigorous selection of soils (red marl, grey marl, limestone), careful vineyard work (manual harvests, low yields), and minimal-intervention winemaking. The results speak for themselves: wines that are clean, vibrant, expressive, and full of character, all while faithfully reflecting the Jura terroir. Domaine Grand also produces the local specialties for which the region is renowned: vin jaune, vin de paille, macvin, crémant, alongside its traditional whites and reds.
