La Quinte was born from the meeting of two passionate individuals brought together within an Alsatian wine estate: Pierrick, a winegrower committed to agroecology and natural wines, and Matthieu, an artisanal distiller dedicated to natural production from wild harvesting. United by their shared passion, other common interests such as music, and a shared generational energy, they combined their expertise around a Languedoc vineyard. Nature, which they deeply admire, has taught them the importance of biodiversity, essential to the balance and beauty of the landscape, and something they seek to convey through their wines and spirits. The complementarity between winemaking and distillation allows them to integrate vine by-products into a circular economy system. Before transforming grapes, winegrowers are first and foremost farmers — stewards of the soil and the landscape — and they too wish to contribute to shaping the world of tomorrow. Their vineyard, located between Haut-Languedoc and Minervois on the Cazelles plateau, is made up of old vines aged between 80 and 120 years, along with a younger parcel, growing on lacustrine limestone, clay, and sandstone soils. Farmed organically, the vineyard benefits from agroecological practices and gentle pruning without soil tilling. Yields are low (15 hl/ha), copper is not used, and sulfur doses are minimized through plant-based alternatives. Harvesting is done by hand, and the wines are crafted without additives, using indigenous yeasts and no added sulfites, to fully express the terroir, grape ripeness, and the emotions they carry.
