- Un Vouvray provenant des meilleurs terroirs de Vouvray. Nez délicatement floral, accompagné d'une bouche ciselé, sur des notes de zestes
Located in the heart of the Loire, Vouvray wine stands out for its rich and centuries-old history, dating back to medieval times. Today, it remains a true expression of the elegance and refinement of French wines. At Clos de l’Epinay, two passionate individuals, Antoine and Henri, have combined their expertise to craft wines of exceptional quality. Their approach focuses on meticulous work with minimal intervention, aiming to produce vibrant and flawless wines. The estate spans 17 hectares of chenin and 1 hectare of red grape varieties, situated at the end of Vouvray's first slope, surrounded by the region’s historic great estates. The Vouvray landscape is undeniably shaped by the Loire River. Antoine and Henri are committed to restoring micro-landscapes by planting hedgerows, trees, and preserving architectural heritage. Clos de l’Epinay is perched on the ridge of Vouvray, with its vines benefiting from diverse slope orientations, enhancing the subtleties of the terroir. The estate has identified 10 distinct terroirs, each following its own tailored vinification process. Clay and limestone form the common thread uniting these terroirs. Chenin, an extraordinary grape variety, produces everything from delicate sparkling wines to elegant dry, off-dry, and sweet whites. More discreetly, the estate cultivates 1 hectare of red grape varieties: pinot noir, gamay, grolleau, and a touch of malbec. The oceanic climate, with temperate summers and cold winters, ensures optimal grape ripeness while maintaining moderate alcohol levels, resulting in beautifully balanced wines.
